Today, I am proud to be celebrating International Women’s Day. As a woman in the tech industry, I am keenly aware of the challenges and obstacles that women continue to face. I began my own journey in engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, just one month after the tragic massacre in 1989, which targeted and killed 14 women at that very school. The event shaped me in innumerable ways, and today I am proud to be part of a leadership team for whom equity, equality, diversity and inclusiveness are core values.

I am honored to work alongside brilliant and talented women who are making significant contributions not only to the IT industry, but to the world . In this post, I want to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the women of Insum and highlight the progress we are making towards a more equitable and inclusive workplace.

Who to choose?

My initial idea for this post was to highlight some of the amazing women I have the privilege of working alongside everyday.

• Maybe the female members of our leadership team? (of which I am extremely proud to say there are many)
• How about our awesome Oracle APEX consultants from around the world, including Peru, USA, Canada, Tunisia and even Singapore?
• But wait, every day, our brilliant women in HR, Sales, Legal and Finance keep things running, and help us all do our best work every day.

Mission impossible, I say.

Can’t pick, won’t pick

So my post turned in to a little tribute video to which many at Insum contributed. In fact, I asked managers and co-workers to share their thoughts about the 25 women they work with daily, and the tributes started flowing.
